I just love the chords and simple scales that are used in this song. As a beginner-level pianist, it's a Christmas song that's playable, but still sounds classy even in a simplified arrangement.

Alt-rock favorites Dinosaur Jr. hit a career high point and pioneered urban golf with this smooth-riffing, twisty gem. Watch for the tempo changes. Wine uncorking intro optional (*pop*).

Winter Song, Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson
I may be 12 years late on this, but I've recently discovered this beautiful duet between Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. This seasonal song works very well in a choral setting, expertly arranged here by Mac Huff.

Christmas Time Is Here, Vince Guaraldi
This is one of my all-time Christmas season favorites. There's just something about the laid back groove and tasty jazz chords that makes me visualize snow falling, a fireplace, hot cocoa and a Christmas tree every time I play it.

You've Got a Friend in Me (from Toy Story), Randy Newman
Toy Story turns 25 this month, so I've been re-watching the Disney Pixar films with my kids and playing Randy Newman's "You’ve Got a Friend In Me." During a time when I think we could all use a friend, this classic theme song is really hitting home.

Secondhand White Baby Grand (from Smash), Megan Hilty
"Secondhand White Baby Grand," sung beautifully by Megan Hilty, is from the NBC show Smash (2012-2013). The song is written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the same duo behind the music of Hairspray and Mary Poppins Returns. A musical stage adaption for Broadway is in the works, with producers Steven Spielberg, Robert Greenblatt and Neil Meron.
