Will's Pick
Made of Stone, The Stone Roses

Moody, triumphant, cocky yet vulnerable, their blistering self-belief was once the very heart and soul of British alternative rock. Worth trying the capo a bit lower if the vocal high notes are a reach. Taken from the eponymous debut album that the NME once declared the greatest album of all time. Epochal.

Sam's Pick
Horizon Variations, Max Richter

Poignant, elegant and beautiful. This short piano piece by contemporary classical composer Max Richter has the ability to transport you to a different setting. And even better - "Horizon Variations" is not too difficult to master. It's all about the expression and phrasing.

Dan's Pick
The Mandalorian (from Star Wars: The Mandalorian), Ludwig Göransson

Having previously won both an Oscar and a Grammy for his incredible work on Black Panther, Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson is no stranger to the art of film music. Göransson's score for Disney's original series The Mandalorian fits perfectly in the Star Wars universe, while giving the show its own unique sound. Highlighted here by the show's main theme, you'll quickly see what makes his music so enjoyable.

Chris' Pick
The Seal Lullaby, Eric Whitacre arr. Emily Crocker

Eric Whitacre + Emily Crocker?! Yes please!

With original composition by renowned choral composer Eric Whitacre, these new voicings adapted by nationally recognized children's choir expert Emily Crocker are magical!

This loving and dreamlike work, captures the undulating rhythm of a mother rocking her child to sleep. The text is a classic by Rudyard Kipling: "Oh! Hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us, and black are the waters that sparkled so green. The moon, o'er the combers, looks downward to find us, at rest in the hollows that rustle between."

Becca's Pick
Lullaby (Acoustic), Sigala & Paloma Faith

This acoustic version of Sigala & Paloma Faith's "Lullaby" is a great, piano-driven alternate take on the original. The stripped-back instrumentation and emotive strings give the song a different feel, and make it a joy to play on piano.

Annie's Pick
Two-Part Invention In A Minor, BWV 784 [Jazz version], J.S. Bach arr. Phillip Keveren

This is a fun and expertly-arranged jazz interpretation of J.S. Bach's popular A Minor 2-Part Invention. It would make a great pairing for a piano student who is learning the original!
