Sam's Pick
Messy, Lola Young
Having been number one over here in the UK, it's been hard to avoid Lola Young's latest single, "Messy," and I love its uniqueness in a world of pop songs that have the tendency to sound a little samey. It's well-crafted, not too polished, and feels authentic, all whilst being extremely catchy.
Becca's Pick
Best of My Love, Eagles
"Best Of My Love" was the first track from the Eagles to top the charts—which occurred 50 years ago this month (March 1975)! This track is one of my favorites to listen to in the late evening as I wind down my day, and I'll oftentimes sit at the piano and play along.
Annie's Pick
I Know Things Now (from Into the Woods), Stephen Sondheim
This lovely Piano & Vocal arrangement of "I Know Things Now" from Into the Woods was originally published in Hal Leonard's Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology series which are based on the original broadway vocal scores. You can find all available songs from this series on SMD by searching "SMTA" in the search bar. And remember, "Nice is different than good!"
Jill's Pick
Train in Vain, The Clash
An early spring this year means I've already started yard cleanup and gardening. My playlist for outdoor tasks includes lots of classic rock, and the first track is always the same - "Train in Vain" from The Clash. Nothing motivates me more for tedious twig-gathering than a bit of sunshine and some infectious harmonica! This B-side track from the iconic album London Calling is an all-time favorite for me.
Bennett's Pick
Severance (Main Title Theme), Theodore Shapiro (arr. Toni Nita)
If your house is anything like mine, then Severance has become mandatory weekly viewing. This experience wouldn't be the same without the hauntingly eerie music that underscores each episode. For that reason, I wanted to share this arrangement of the main theme created by one of the members of the ArrangeMe community!
Jacklyn's Pick
Shape of My Heart, Backstreet Boys
A song that's been living rent free in my head these last few days is this late 90s throwback. Oh nostalgia! What I would do to go back to that time - listening to these youthful songs on my Walkman, thinking I was so cool carrying my music around. I love the lyrics and the melody of this song because it screams late 90s boy band, telling stories about love and relationships. These lyrics make me swoon, and I just want to go back and relive those good old times, when times were much simpler.
