Dan's Pick
Master of Puppets, Metallica

The 80s metal hit has landed Metallica back on the charts, thanks to an epic scene in the Stranger Things Season 4 Finale. Join Eddie Munson and the gang in the fight against Vecna with a variety of arrangements for guitar, ukulele, bass, drums, and even marching band!

Annie's Pick
No One Is Alone - Part 1 (from Into the Woods), Stephen Sondheim (arr. Phillip Keveren)

Phillip Keveren's latest Piano Solo book is full of all your Sondheim favorites. I especially like this arrangement of "No One Is Alone" from Into the Woods, written in my favorite key of Db Major. After it was posted digitally, I probably spent a full hour playing it on loop — it's that good!

Sam's Pick
When I'm Sixty-Four, The Beatles (arr. Tom Gentry)

July 13th is Barbershop Music Appreciation Day, which has me thinking back to my days singing in a barbershop quartet at school. The Beatles' classic "When I'm Sixty-Four" is the first song I remember singing in the group, and whilst it might not have been this exact version, Tom Gentry's arrangement really brings out the tongue-in-cheek nature of the Fab Four's original.

Becca's Pick
Roll with the Changes, REO Speedwagon

"Roll with the Changes" appears on REO Speedwagon's 1978 album You Can Tune a Piano, but You Can't Tuna Fish, and is one of my favorites to play on keys. This track features Neal Doughty on the Hammond organ solo, and Kevin Cronin on the fun piano riff.

Bill's Pick
There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, The Smiths

Morrissey and his former band The Smiths always had a reputation for what many consider "depressing" themes in their songs, but the single "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" from their 1992 album, The Queen is Dead just may be one of the most beautifully dark love anthems ever written. Covered by a multitude of bands over the years, even including a new solo version by Morrissey himself in 2005, the song has endured the test of time and continues to be what I consider to be The Smiths' most timeless masterpiece.

Laura's Pick
Glimpse of Us, Joji

"Glimpse of Us" is a sad and chilling piano ballad that is making its way up all the charts from artist Joji. The singer is known for releasing melancholy songs — and "Glimpse of Us" is no exception.
