Sam's Pick
Hold On, Wilson Phillips

Vocal harmonies, when done well, are probably my favorite thing in pop music, and I can't think of many better harmony-laden choruses than Wilson Phillips' debut hit, "Hold On." Despite having listened to the song hundreds of times over the years, I only recently found out that Wilson Phillips are the children of pop royalty from the Beach Boys and the Mamas & the Papas!

Bill's Pick
Wise Up, Aimee Mann

Previously most-known for her hit song "Voices Carry" with 'til tuesday, Aimee Mann experienced a cultural resurgence when Paul Thomas Anderson chose to feature her music heavily in his film, Magnolia. In particular, her song "Wise Up" was leveraged to great emotional affect in the film as a powerful centerpiece wherein various characters sing the words as they each reach their spiritual denouements. A simple, beautiful, and heartbreaking song, it remains as powerful today as it did when Magnolia first hit screens in 1999.

Becca's Pick
You're Still the One, Shania Twain

Shania Twain is making a comeback these days with a new album released just a few weeks ago, but nothing can beat her 1997 album Come On Over with mega-hits such as "Man! I Feel Like A Woman," "That Don't Impress Me Much," and the popular ballad "You're Still The One" that won two Grammy awards – which came out the same year as Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" (Love theme from Titanic).

Annie's Pick
Listen (from Dreamgirls), Beyoncé

"Listen" was one of four new songs written for the 2007 movie version of Dreamgirls, and has since been incorporated into the stage version of the movie. Co-written and performed by Beyoncé, this song is an anthem for breaking free and following one's dreams.

Dan's Pick
Celeste Piano Collections, Lena Raine

Lena Raine is one of today's most prominent female video game composers, best known for her work on popular indie games Celeste and Chicory: A Colorful Tale, as well as contributions to major franchises like Minecraft, Guild Wars, and Sackboy. Trevor Alan Gomes' "Celeste Piano Collections" is a delightful representation of Raine's original score. I recommend pianists check out "Resurrections" and "First Steps"!

Julia's Pick
I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Whitney Houston

You can't tell me a part of you doesn't instantly start dancing whenever this song comes on. "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" is the epitome of a classic and will never fail to host a great time.
