Mother and Child Reunion, Paul Simon
I grew up with my parents' Paul Simon records, and "Mother and Child Reunion" from his self-titled album has always been a favorite of mine. Its timeless appeal comes from a unique mix of folk, gospel, and upbeat reggae, combined with evocative lyrics. It's a great choice to play on piano or guitar and showcases the diversity and genius of Paul Simon's catalog.

At All Costs, Chris Pine and Ariana DeBose (arr. Mac Huff)
Mac Huff's arrangement of "At All Costs" from Disney's Wish beautifully adapts the duet for a choir, expertly interweaving the voices to retain the emotional depth and storytelling of the original piece.
Annie's Pick
Look for the Light (from Only Murders in the Building), Meryl Streep and Ashley Park
Get ready for a lot of name-dropping for this one! My staff pick for this month is "Look for the Light" from Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building. This enchanting waltz is written by Pasek & Paul alongside Sara Bareilles. It begins as a quiet solo sung in the show by Meryl Streep and grows into a sweeping duet with Ashley Park. The piano texture throughout is simple but incredibly beautiful.

End of the Innocence, Don Henley
I have a lot of love for Bruce Hornsby, who is my biggest musical influence whenever I've dabbled in songwriting myself, and his sound really shines through on "End of the Innocence" which he co-wrote and co-produced with Don Henley. 35 years after its release, it remains one of my favorite songs to play on piano.

Maria (from West Side Story), Leonard Bernstein
The timeless and iconic West Side Story really showcases the genius of Leonard Bernstein's composition for me, a genius that is spotlighted in the new biopic, Maestro. Among several highlights from West Side Story, I can't resist the musical brilliance of the song "Maria", which has been covered by Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, Barbra Streisand, and Plácido Domingo, among others.
