Dancing Through Life (from Wicked), Stephen Schwartz
Hit musical Wicked has made quite the comeback lately with the release of the 2024 film adaptation of Wicked: Part I. This is one of my favorite songs on the soundtrack, as it's the one track that features the male lead. I loved the voice of Norbert Leo Butz, who played Fiyero on Broadway (and is the voice you hear on the 2003 soundtrack), and I equally enjoy hearing Jonathan Bailey's rendition of this track as well. A fun song to play on piano along with the soundtrack!

Birds of a Feather, Billie Eilish (arr. Mark Brymer)
Billie Eilish has been nominated for seven Grammy awards this year, with "Birds of a Feather" up for both record of the year and song of the year fresh off earning the accolade of most-streamed song on Spotify in 2024. With its soothing melody and warm harmonies, the song lends itself to a choral setting, and Mark Brymer's arrangement really captures the magic of the original.

Love Is Here to Stay, George Gershwin
My annual New Year's tradition is staying in, eating a junk food dinner, and re-watching the classic When Harry Met Sally. In 1989, its soundtrack of classic jazz standards was revolutionary - over 35 years later it still sounds as fresh and charming as ever. It always puts me in the mood to cozy up with a warm drink and sing along with Ella.

Fly Me to the Moon, Julie London
This arrangement of "Fly Me to the Moon" hits all the right notes for trumpet players looking to shine. With its smooth phrasing and jazzy vibe, it's a perfect piece for showcasing your tone and style, whether you're playing for fun or prepping for a performance. Bonus: it's just as much fun to play as it is to listen to!

Caught in the Storm (from Smash), Pasek & Paul
Calling all Smash fans! We just added this Piano & Vocal arrangement of "Caught in the Storm" which is sung by both Katharine McPhee and Jeremy Jordan in the 2nd season of Smash. Written by Pasek & Paul in the early part of their career, this song features their signature style which would later propel them to fame with Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman.

This Is the New Year, A Great Big World
It's the new year - a time to turn a new leaf, to start a new chapter, a new beginning! I'm very new to this song and the artist, but after listening to it and the lyrics, I feel that 2025 will be a year to remember. It's such an uplifting and upbeat song and it has helped me reflect on my personal growth in the past year. I'm manifesting that this year will be good to me.
