Becca's Pick
Remember When, Alan Jackson
Released in 2003, this song is a beautiful tribute to the life of Alan Jackson and his wife, from when they first fell in love to when they raised children. Jackson performed this song earlier this month at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, where he was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Last of Us, Gustavo Santaolalla
With Season 2 out now, I've been right back in The Last of Us world. The main theme is simple but captures the feel and mood of the story perfectly. Even if you haven't played the game or watched the show, the music stands on its own, and definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of atmospheric, story-driven scores.
Sam's Pick
Santa Monica, Everclear
Like many, I went through a bit of a grunge (post-grunge?) phase as a teenager, and one of the bands I used to enjoy listening to was Everclear, whose album Sparkle and Fade turns 30(!) this month. "Santa Monica" is the standout song from the album for me, and as someone who only plays guitar to a pretty basic level, this guitar cheat sheet is a great way to strum your way through it!
Annie's Pick
The Way It Was, Alexis Ffrench
"The Way It Was" is the opening track on Alexis Ffrench's most recent piano solo album, Classical Soul Vol. 1. This composition has such an inviting and fresh feel, with great harmonies and varied rhythm throughout. Definitely worth a listen and play through to try it out!
Jill's Pick
Cecilia, Simon & Garfunkel
With summer around the corner and a long drive to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on the agenda, I'm touching up my Windows Down Road Trip playlist! This is a diverse mix from all genres and eras, but the only requirement is that the songs have to be fun to belt with a friend while hurtling down a Midwestern highway. A no-skip track from this playlist is Simon & Garfunkel's classic "Cecilia" - tons of harmonizing opportunities! Just make sure to let the passenger handle the clapping and air-strumming so you can keep your hands on the wheel.
Jacklyn's Pick
Aida, Sarah McLachlan
A core memory unlocked when I heard "Adia" by Sarah McLachlan for the first time in years. This 1998 hit, which reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, used to play often on the radio during our long, overnight family road trips. Her haunting voice and the melancholy piano always stuck with me, even before I understood the lyrics. Listening to it now brings back a wave of nostalgia—those quiet moments in the car, the feeling of safety, and the bittersweet beauty only a song from your past can hold.
